NEW YEAR…ARE YOU READY?

As we embark upon another year, another decade, I reflect back on what was and try to imagine what is to be. Wherever you are on your life’s journey, I hope that you are healthy, fulfilled and at peace with the path you have been traveling.
When I look back at any point in my life, I look to the four main areas of my life that impact everything else that I do. Those are spirituality, health, family & relationships, and career & finances. Much of my life has been focused on assisting people achieve their career goals, thereby their finances, that in reality dictates so many other things in our lives living in a nation of capitalism.
The truth of the matter is that many people stumble into a career path early in adulthood, become complacent with what they are doing, stuck in the fast lane of our ever-changing lives, and end up looking back later in life at what could have been. Each year at this time we are offered the opportunity for a reboot. New Year’s marks a new beginning. A time to look back and learn from where we have come. Equally important however, an opportunity to look forward and shape where it is we want to go. Most of us shy away from change. I think that is basically the way we are wired. But in recognizing this, and understanding that without change growth cannot happen, we can begin to feel comfortable with the fact that change is okay. We each get to determine just how much change we want to tolerate, as we inch our way towards being the very best version of ourselves.
Are you happy with where you are in your career? Have you achieved what it is you often thought of when you launched your career? If not, what got in the way?
